Get to Know Emily Kane
Emily Kane is a Whistler-based yoga teacher with a background in Kinesiology (BKin), bringing a thoughtful and movement-informed approach to her teaching. Inspired by both modern movement science and traditional yogic philosophy, Emily’s work focuses on helping people reconnect with their bodies, move with confidence, and cultivate balance both on and off the mat.
Emily specializes in functional movement and creative, intelligently designed sequencing, drawing primarily from Hatha and Vinyasa traditions. Her classes invite students to explore movement in ways that build strength, stability, and mobility while supporting long-term physical health. With an understanding of anatomy and biomechanics, she emphasizes alignment and body awareness so students can move safely and sustainably.
Living in Whistler, Emily understands the demands of an active mountain lifestyle and has experience supporting students navigating injuries, recovery, and physical limitations. Her approach blends strengthening and mobility work with mindful pacing, allowing students to rebuild trust in their bodies while continuing to grow in their practice.
Alongside her dynamic classes, Emily is passionate about the slower and more therapeutic side of yoga. She integrates traditional and restorative practices that encourage deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and healing beyond the physical body. These practices offer space for rest, reflection, and reconnection in the midst of busy and active lives.
Off the mat, Emily embraces the Whistler lifestyle and spends her time snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing, and exploring the outdoors. Her connection to nature and community deeply influences how she shows up as a teacher—with openness, warmth, and a light heart.
Emily strives to create a welcoming space where students feel safe to explore movement, honor their bodies, and discover a practice that feels authentic and empowering. She believes yoga is a powerful tool for self-discovery, healing, and living with greater balance and intention.
